Portraits then and now

My girls and I had portraits taken this weekend for my husband Peet. He is really homesick and figured it might help tide him over until he gets to come back in May. Wanted to share and ask if you can see a difference between me in the first set taken in June before he left and the ones now in March.  Please give me honest opinion, I am wondering if I should be ready to field questions or not from him.

I have changed photo album

I changed the title on my photo album entry because I do not really want to take weekly photos, byt really monthly photos.

I think weekly will be overkill, and tends to focus on smaller results versus bigger picture. So I will taking monthly 1st tuesday of each month, on my WI day and measurement day. I have decided this time I really need to kkep up with the monthly measurements, because my body has always been heavy. I carry more muscle, I am that atheltic body type. Even in hischool wearing a size 8 I weighed 160 pounds. To the average female that's a lot of weight for me that is goal. I know if I get much skinnier than that I am sacrificing the muscle I love having that will keep me trimmer in long run.

Funny that I tend to be one of those people that BMI doesn't apply to. At 160 lbs in High School, I was working in gym, they took my body fat percentage was only 12%. Which for female was so low. They were shocked that at my weight I was so low.

I think it really helps to have realistic goals for your body, who knows you better than you. I know that with my goal at 160, I will be great, if I was to try to set it at standard goal for me height like 140, I would be losing muscle or ogans or something, because the fat isn't there for that low of weight. As a woman who has had 3 kids. I have some fat to lose, but I am not going to be unrealistic, I don't expectto be the same as I was in Highschool. I want to be better, with the added curves, and working out, I can look better than I did then. I want o be the woman that improved with age, like a fine wine.

Today is another day

I am starting a new day out, and it is a new chance to be the better me. I have never had big issues staying OP on daily basis, just more long term. It has always had more to due with my husband than anything else. While I love him to death he can be unsupportive even though he doesn't mean to. He is one of those guys that loves me no matter what, and he is very simple, so to him WW seems to complicated to be worth it.

It can be hard to get the point across to someone who can get in shape in a week of trying, that my self esteem and confidence levels are attached to me being successful in my efforts. Not just the weight, but the process of saying I am going to do, and actually doing it.

Someone else commented on how they see themselves as a butterfly, it's funny because it the metaphor I have used too. I actually have my husband designing a Celtic butterfly for me, I am getting tattoo when I receive 10% to remind me of the journey, and to motivate me to continue on. My husband is Artist by trade, Army called him back after 3 years of discharge. You can see his art at www.peetcooper.com.

We are actually a great team, because of his artistic skills and my technical. Like I did the website for him, but he creates the content. He was working as concept artist before recall. I am learning to program games right now. Another surprise for him, he is completely unaware of. I was looking for a way to be involved in his goals, but still take advantage of what I like and I am good at. I am computer geek, so it works out well.

I thank you all for the support you have given me so far, and I see myself making the most successful journey I have ever taken on a personal level. I think sometimes, you just have to be mentally ready to change or it just doesn't work. I took the time to mental change by train of thought before even thinking about going into physical changes. I am glad I did, in the long run I think it will only strengthen my success.
